Tex 1991-2008
Tex, my old friend, passed away yesterday. At 17 years of age,
he definitely had a good run at life. I watched his birth back when I was in elementary school, and 17 years later, and 10 years after I have graduated high school I was there to say goodbye in the end. Tex was a regular Houdini. We could NEVER keep that dog in. My dad would go out to the kennel for hours fixing every hole only a mouse could fit through. By the time he walked in the house, claimed that "he got his this time", Tex would be whimpering at the door. He could jump anything, and climb like you wouldn't believe! But for all his quirks, he was so much fun and the nicest little dog. Max, my parents dog (you can see his picture at the bottom of my blog) was Tex's best friend. He was at his side every second, actually crying, and laying on him until he passed. We would cover his body with a blanket, and Max would pull the blanket off and lay on him. He would not leave his side even after Tex was gone. Max has been howling all morning, truly mourning his friend. It is right out of "Where the Red Fern grows" I love and believe the saying that say, "Be the Person, your dog thinks you are"
We will miss you old boy!

My parents make pet memorials you should look at their site. www.rememberrocks.com Tell them I said to give you a good deal! :)
I'm sorry about Tex that is very sad! He is happier in doggy heaven now. And what the heck, we have the same background!
So sorry Lesley. Losing a pet-SUCKS. What a long, happy life he led though I am sure. I hope that Max recovers from his super loss.
Lesley! That's too bad, and so sad! Tex was Chancy's baby? Right? That is what I remember.
