So, precisely 9 weeks ago, at around 5:30 in the morning I took a First Response pregnancy test. 5:30 because I couldn't wait or sleep until a more restful time in the morning. Now with Austin I used a EPT, which shows you a plus and a negative if you are pregnant. So for some reason, maybe because it was 5:30 in the morning, I thought the First Response would be the same as the EPT. So I took it and got the double line. I thought, "really" because I thought for sure I was pregnant. So for a good five minutes I just stared at it. Then to my excitement and (gulp)horror, I noticed the little key next to the window that screamed at me, "you idiot two lines means pregnant! If you cant read the test maybe you should take it at a more decent hour!" OK maybe it didn't say all that but I swere it did. So yeah, do you think I could sleep after that news. Nope. I laid in bed all morning worrying, with little burst of excitement.
I told Ryan around 7:00 and he was and is SOOO excited. (except when I give him the stink eye as I gag for the 100th time that morning, and am sick 24 hours a day. Yes, it is his fault.) The weird thing is, is that when I was pregnant with Austin, I was never sick. Tired yes, but not sick. So I have been a little shocked at how horrible morning sickness can be, especially when it last all flipping day.
So I really am excited to add another member to our loving family. I know Austin is going to be an AWESOME big brother, and Ryan, well, he would have 10 kids if it was up to him. He loves babies, and is an amazing dad. He would do anything for Austin and gives up so much of his free time to him. I am truly blessed to have both of them in my life. So can you tell I am a little emotional?? I blame it on the pregnancy. I love how I can blame everything on it :) (he he he)
I will keep you updated. I should have time, since all I do is sit around trying not to puke. I am starting to see a little ray of light at the end of the morning sickness tunnel, but it is still about 4 weeks away.
Any advice on how to manage the morning sickness would be appreciated! I will keep you posted!

Don't have any advice for morning sickness, But CONGRATULATIONS! This family never goes long wihtout someone being pregnant! That is great news!
aww..congrats!!! my morning (all day) sickness started the same week i got pregnant, and lasted about 3 months. well, as i type this, i'm laying in bed with my bucket again...apparently it can come back at the end. it was so funny at the start, i could not think of a food that would not make me sick, so i thought about food ALL DAY, until i finally came up with a couple of things that i thought i'd be able to eat. i lived off of those little orange fish crackers and kiwis for quite a while. i hope it doesn't last too long for you! congrats again!
Congrats!!! That is awesome. Two kids are a handful! My wife was sick with both of our kids. Our doctor gave her a RX for Zofran. It is good stuff. (But pretty expensive) At night she would take half a unisom and a vitiman b12 pill. That seemed to do the trick!
Yahoo it's about time!!!
Girl I am so excited for you!
I hope Cathy got back to you. She can be kind of slow.
I am So Happy for you.
congrats Leslie! I love how you posted so henestly how the results were confusing at 5:30 am. Nothing is clear that early in the morning! Start buying pink because they say if you arn't sick with a boy, the morning sickness indicates a girl. (don't ask me who "they" is.
My boy pregnancies were also mostly nausea free, I'm not the best for advice but I've heard that lots of B-vitamins help some people, and since they're water soluable you can't over do it and hurt the baby. GNC has a liquid you can drop in juice if you don't like pills.
When worst comes to worse, plan on eating food in the morning that doesn't taste that bad coming up.... Apples or chocolate milk for example are not that bad the second time around....sad advice maybe... But you may appreciate it later!
Good luck!
Julie
I am so freaking excited!
I never really had morning sickness but I've heard that if you eat some protein in the morning that it helps.
YAYY congrats!! are you feeling any better yet?
WOOHOO!
I am sooo excited for you guys!!
So, I have been out of the loop for awile-obviously!! So I am sorry this congrats is SOOOO late. You may not be dealing with morning sickness anymore at this point, but I used coke syrup. If you can find a gas station that will give you any, that is. I used it when I was pregnant with Riley and it worked pretty good, only if I wasn't too sick to gag it down!!!
