Happy Big 4th my handsome guy!

7/29/2009
Happy Birthday to my handsome sweet little buddy. I cannot believe you are already 4. Where did the time go? I wish I could pause you right where you are, with the dirt under your nails, your messy little face, and the sweet smell of the outside in your hair. Thank you for being my buddy and for always helping me out so much. I love you with all my heart!
4 Reasons I love my Austin (I could name a million, but since he is 4...)
1. You are so sweet. You have a kindness about you that is absolutely genuine. You love everyone, and everything, even down to the tiniest little insect. In fact when there is a spider in the house, you wont let me smash it. We have to let them go outside to their "families." If I do get caught whacking one, you cry and say,"poor little guy".
2. You love your little sister, and never showed an ounce of jealousy when we brought her home, even though I could see it in your eyes. You are so sweet to her, and it shows in how much she adores you. When she cries you always make sure I know by saying,"mom help Lily". I have even caught you turning off the swing and giving her her binkie. You call her little princess, prettiest girl, little darling, and little angel.
3.You are tiny. A whole 29 Lbs. But everything you do it big. Tiny as in you still fit into a 24 month pant. Tiny as in your cousins that are 9 months younger then you are taller then you. You are also the only person I can honestly recall calling me tall. Every time you say it, I see another gold star appear on your forehead. You'll never be a basketball player, but football is better anyway.
4. You make friends EVERYWHERE we go. Whether it is the Mall, swimming pool, or just the grocery store. I am truly envious of how easy you do. There is not one place I can think of, where you haven't met someone, and when they walked away they didn't have a huge smile on their face. AND it isn't just kids your age. People of all ages seem to enjoy your company.
Austin it has been a privilege to have you in our lives, for just these 4 short years. You have filled our home with so much joy and love beyond anything I could have ever imagined. Thank you my little friend. I cant wait for the years to come. Happy Birthday!

Just some random pictures

My sweet little angel

Cheese! Austin set this picture up. Love it!

Austin and dad being silly
Loves her hands. She is always chewing on them

Me and Austin at the Aquarium on our mommy son date.

Lily is just absolutely wonderful. We are enjoying her so much. She is almost 4 months old, which blows my mind! She Coo's and goo's and has starting laughing. She has also found her toes. She has just enough hair to rock a Mohawk, and has a glorious mullet out back. She sleeps......ahhhh she sleeps. Most nights all the way through. Naps awesome as well. She has a temper and when she gets mad, (which isn't very often), you had better watch out! She is such a girl! She is always smiling, loves Austin and finds him very interesting. She had been enjoying the pool this year, well the shade with me anyway as we watch Austin play. He has just learned how to go all the way under the water and now thinks he can swim. That's what he told some random stranger on the way out of the pool anyway. Kind of scary as he has tried several times to go to the deep end of the pool. Because as he told me, he can just put his head up and breath. Swimming lessons here we come! So as you can tell, I have the best kids in the world, don't ya think? I couldn't ask for anything more!! We are so blessed!!

My super start to the day..........

Thank goodness for these!

So Ryan got in an accident this morning as you can see by the car, it was a pretty hard hit. He is OK and luckily walked away with a few scratches on his hands, and a bruise on his forearm. He rear ended a big truck and basically went right under it. Not the phone call you ever want, (especially since he beeped in on a phone call from my dad telling me that my grandpa had fallen off a stool at our cabin and broke his femur, and laid up there on the floor for 4 hours until he went missing...thank goodness he is ok.) to get, but we feel so blessed that he is fine, the car on the other hand is totalled.

The fun plan "B' 4th of July

Boys being boys.

This fella stopped by to say hello.

The proud owner of a tadpole. His name "Dino"

Catching tadpoles. Jared made this net out of a deer dressing kit and a hanger. You can just call him Man Vs. Wild.

Dino the tadpole
This 4th of July weekend was supposed to be a camping trip up the Provo Canyon with my family. We were going to stay at the Hope camp ground for 2 night, go fishing, and to Cascade Springs. Then it rained. Big surprise right? Rained plan "A" right into the crapper. So we went with plan "B" which was a trip to the cabin, for one night. It was really fun, and more of my idea of camping. Bathroom, running water, TV and DVD player, soft beds, oven, and refrigerator. That is my idea of "toughing it." We watched a movie, had a treasure hunt, 4 wheeled, caught salamander tadpoles, ate, and ate, and ate. Fun times. Oh and we found out from our friend who is in the forest service, that they spent the weekend chasing a bear out of Hope campground. Good thing it rained!
