This year was the off year in my family where we all go to our in laws for Thanksgiving. But with enough complaining from all of us, we decided to have a early Burr Thanksgiving Feast. It was so much fun. We all went over to my Grandpa and Grandma Burr's house where the feast was being held, and oh what a feast it was. My Grandma Burr has a way of making the Holidays so memorable and special. She always has. Everything was absolutely beautiful, from the way dinner was presented, to the table decor. The food not only looked beautiful, but tasted incredible too.
Then to top it all off, she brought out all the Gingerbread House kits and we all got to sit around and decorated them. It was so much fun and brought back so many cherished memories. When we were little, she had us over every year to do the same, and it was awesome to sit there in the same house with my own little boy, and continue the tradition.
My grandma was very sneaky. When it was time to go home she told us that we had to leave them there to dry, and even when I said mine was dry she insisted that we keep them there. Well to our surprise, she finished them for us. They look just like they use too when I was a child. I hope to continue the tradition with both my kids.
Now if I can just keep Austin out of it until Christmas! It is amazing how when he is around it candy keeps "falling off" spooky hu??
Thank you Grandma for a wonderful night! We love you!
