2 weeks of first

These last two weeks have been challenging to say the least.

Here is our list of "Firsts"

1. Lily's first pearly white have made an appearance. Baby teeth so cute, teething..not so much.
(pictures to follow soon)

2. Lily's first cold. Boy oh boy, that one has been rough. I can tell you that waking up every half hour for 3 night in a row is a.........I cant think of a word that isn't a swear word. So just think your worst word in your head. That would explain it.

3. Lily's first ear infection. Lets hope that she doesn't fall into Austins patterns. That would be bad.

4. Our first jail break. Austin's Fire Belly Toad busted out and is still on the loose in the house. Unfortunately for him, I am sure he is a crispy fella now. That will teach him.

And the little joy in all of this........

My first over night trip with my friends from High School without my kids! It was soo fun. We went to Park City, ate out, stayed up all night talking and slept in. Everyone should do that once a year! Thanks Robin, Amber, Emberly, and Kim!!!! I needed that more then you could know !!

Oh and Lily is feeling much better now! Thank goodness! Does anyone have a big plastic bubble that she can stay in for the next 5 months?

Stewart Falls

The Falls. Quite a beautiful sight!

Over Labor Day weekend my whole family decided to hike Stewart Falls, (along with every body else in the state) with all the kids. If you are wondering if that is a good idea, the answer would be.....not so much. Apparently no one remembered just how long of a hike it is.
For the first half hour, Austin was running and jumping over the rocks and logs, but then when the trail just kept on going, he really started running out of steam. By the time the falls were in view, Lily was SCREAMING, and Austin was too. I kept saying, "who's fun idea was this again, and why aren't we at the pool?"
So after a quick look at the falls, because that is all you could glimpse with the millions of other people there, we decided to hike back out the Sundance way, which according to the signs is 1/2 a mile shorter. It didn't feel shorter. Austin was barley shuffling his feet, and his cousin Talin was not moving another step. He didn't care if he got eaten by a bear or wolf in the dark, he was not going to move. Austin kept asking why we had to keep walking. So I would tell him, and he would just ask "why" again. He was pretty out of it. It was really funny. So he got to ride on Grandpa shoulder, while Talin slept on his mom's shoulder the rest of the never ending way down.
When I asked him later if he had fun he said, "yes I loved seeing those fish." (the ones at sundance) I said, "how about walking in that dirt for a long time?" he thought about that and said, "no, mom that wasn't fun."
SO the moral of the story is this......if you ever think about hiking Stewart falls on Labor day weekend with one 3 year old, one 4 year old, a 5 month old and a one year old (though she was the best out of them all)....don't do it!
I get a good laugh out of it still....

The Zoo

This thing has the funniest teeth. Don't you think it looks like someone you know? I do. Cant figure out who though.

She LOVED this little monkey, and it must have loved her too. He kept coming down right to the glass to see my little Lily pie. Love it's Albert Einstein hair.

I'm the map, I'm the map, I'm the map, I'm the map, I'M THE MAP. He did a lot of map reading while we were there.

Ahhhhh.... you can call me Dr. Jones.

A Foosa. Didn't even know these existed. Yes I have seen the show Madagascar, but I just thought those Little Lemurs made that name up. Pretty cool animal. Worth seeing I think.
All in all a really fun day. HOT very hot, but fun.
