LILY PIES PARTY

Austin being oh so helpful, and opening all of her gifts for her. How nice.

The Mullet clip.

This is her cake to destroy. It was only tasted. Apparently she doesn't like to get her hands dirty.

sneaking a taste

Her walk-a-long lion. Thanks Grandma!

Her cake. Didn't quite turn out how I had imagined. Oh well, Austin added the blue flower.
What a fun day we had celebrating our sweet little girls first birthday.
You know, there is something extra special about a first birthday.
Lots of fresh memories of the actual birth, and the indescribable wonderful and spiritual experience that is, plus remembering how teeny tiny she was only 12 short months ago.
It is amazing to look at her, and her spunky little attitude and think she has only been here for 1 year.
What a fun and funny little girl she is!!!
I thank all of you who came to celebrate Lily's special day with us!!!

Happy Birthday!!

I know everyone starts out saying that they cant believe that their baby is already one, and not to be cliche, but that is exactly what I am thinking.
How did this happen so fast?
It feels like I just brought her home, and it has already been a year. I wish I could pause her in this moment.
The incredibly sweet smell of her skin
her perfect pixie curl on the top of her head
her cheesy gap tooth grin
the chunkiness that I want to squeeze constantly
The way she looks in footed Jammie's (is there anything cutter?)
What an incredible blessing, and complete joy she has been in our family. It never ceases to amaze me how much one tiny miracle can change your life, your attitude, your everything in the best most miraculous way possible.
You have made me a better person, the sky a little bluer, the grass a little greener, and life a whole lot sweeter.
Thank you my baby girl, my love, my life.

Peace a Triumph of Principale

Peace—
A Triumph of Principles

Elder Marvin J. Ashton
Of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles

Never will peace and hatred be able to abide in the same soul. Permanent peace will elude those individuals or groups whose objective is to condemn, discredit, rail at, or tear down those whose beliefs are different from their own. These people live by hatred and would destroy others insofar as it is in their power to do so. True Christians have no time for contention. Lasting peace cannot be built while we are reviling or hating others. Those who preach hate, ridicule, and untruths cannot be classified as peacemakers. Until they repent they will reap the harvest to which those engaged in the business of hatred are entitled. Feelings of enmity and malice can never be compatible with feelings of peace.

Fundraiser

Last night was the Michael Malarsie (click on the link to see his blog) fundraiser. It was such a good night. It had a great turn out, and was so well planned. The entertainment was great, and the highlight of the night was the honor and thanks they gave to Michael for the sacrifice he gave for our country. They really did a good job to keep the night true to what we were really there for. Not for the recognition of the event planners, dancers, and the entertainment, but to Michael and all the men and women who sacrificed so, so much to keep our country, children and family's safe. It was an absolute HONOR to be there, to support and give my thanks and standing ovation to Michael, and those like him who deserve all the thanks and recognition in the world.
Freedom isn't free.

If you were unable to attend, and would like to donate money to Michael, you can at any Wells Fargo bank under the following account:
Michael J Malarsie, Airforce Sr Airman.

St. George

What is better then going To St. George with your 4 BFF's for 2 night to celebrate (uh.. humm) turning 30?

1. Having a bunch of SOPHOMORE high school boys hit on you until they realize that you are married.

2. Having a bunch of High School girls think you are Sr. in high school.

3. Having an old man ask us if we won. Not realizing what he meant, then REALIZING he meant the high school academic competition that was going on. We told him that we were there getting a break from our kids, and by him thinking we were in High School, that we did WIN!!

I think that is a good way to ring in our 30th year. Don't you??

For a great cause.....

Come on all you dance friends! And anyone else who wants to see a good show. My cousin Michael Malarsie was wounded in Afghanistan by an IED. It has left him completely blind. He has a long recovery ahead, and ALL the proceeds from this fundraiser goes to his amazing family, to help with his recovery.

Click on the poster to maximize it! It will be easier to see the details.
