St. George

What is better then going To St. George with your 4 BFF's for 2 night to celebrate (uh.. humm) turning 30?

1. Having a bunch of SOPHOMORE high school boys hit on you until they realize that you are married.

2. Having a bunch of High School girls think you are Sr. in high school.

3. Having an old man ask us if we won. Not realizing what he meant, then REALIZING he meant the high school academic competition that was going on. We told him that we were there getting a break from our kids, and by him thinking we were in High School, that we did WIN!!

I think that is a good way to ring in our 30th year. Don't you??

For a great cause.....

Come on all you dance friends! And anyone else who wants to see a good show. My cousin Michael Malarsie was wounded in Afghanistan by an IED. It has left him completely blind. He has a long recovery ahead, and ALL the proceeds from this fundraiser goes to his amazing family, to help with his recovery.

Click on the poster to maximize it! It will be easier to see the details.

Vaccines.

This is my vent. You have been warned.

I believe in vaccines. I believe they have been put on this earth at this time for a reason. I believe they save peoples lives every single day. I DON'T believe that they CAUSE autism. I think it is something to do with your genes. Do they scare me....a little. Do I hate putting my kids through the pain. Yes. Do I do it still because I know the benefits hugely outweighs the risk YES. Do I believe that those of us who vaccinate our children and ourselves form a wall of armor from HORRIBLE diseases around our society. ABSOLUTELY.

Why this venting session?? A friend of my friend (be prepared to cry your eyes out) just lost her darling tiny newborn from pertussis. Whooping cough. A disease that was GONE from our country. GONE! until this STUPID false study about the MMR came out and people stopped vaccinating their children. This tiny precious baby is gone, and a mother is devastated and heartbroken because someone decided to listen to the FALSE study and not to their pediatrician, doctors, hospitals, etc..... listen to your doctors. Not to "experts" like Jenny Mccarthy. I mean Seriously.

Will my kids be that weak link in the armor...absolutely not.

2 new, one old

These are my new favorite things I love this lamp.(doest that remind you of Anchor Man? I love lamp) It is perfect in Lily's room, since they are in fact Lily's.

Then there are these butterflies hanging from her ceiling. Aren't they lovely? I think so. So does she.

And now for the old. This chair came out of the old Manila white church that my brother in law now owns. The Church was built in the late 1800's, and the chair is more then likely the same age. I love it. I sometimes like to think about all the people who have sat in this chair over the years, and wonder what their lives were like, in a more simple, slower pace of life. I envy them for it. I wish we could slow down, take one day at a time, and enjoy the simple things in life.

A Lily Pie Update

This little girl is turning 10 months old this week, and I can hardly believe it. She is an absolute joy, and is constantly making us laugh. She absolutely refuses to crawl preferring instead to roll everywhere she needs to go. She has gotten really good at this even though we have had many conversations about how much easier it is to crawl. She still refuses though. She will be one of those babies that crawl for a day and then start walking.
She also has a few words in her vocabulary. When she sees the dogs for the first time after a nap or in the morning, or one she hasn't seen for a while she looks down at them and says, "boo woo" She also loves to look at the birds at the bird feeder and says bird, which sounds more like "brrr". SO cute! She is also starting to say something in the way of fish. Sounds like "sish."
She eats good, sleeps good, naps good, plays good, and is ALWAYS smiling! She is well, perfect. Lily Pie we LOVE you!

Air Soft Nerds

I love this picture, the light, the fact that he sitting reading a book with his puppy on his lap. This picture has nothing to do with Air Soft guns but it sure is cute.

Air soft gun nerds. Check out those safety goggles. Wouldn't want to Shoot your eye out.

Pretty intimidating. Nothing scarier then a nerd with a Chihuahua puppy. You had better watch out with these two on the loose!

Dear 2009

Dear 2009,

You sure are getting alot of negativity. I have heard alot of people tell you goodbye and good riddance. Yes you were a tough year on a lot of people, but in some of that sorrow and hardships, you have also blessed us abundantly. I am so thankful to you and the blessing you have blessed us with. Here are a few.

Starting with my number one. You blessed us with a absolutely beautiful HEALTHY baby girl on March 31, 2009. A scary, yet successful delivery, and an angel of a daughter that we wouldn't change for the world.

Second, health. Need I say more?

Third. Yes, on the same day you scared us terribly by Ryan being in a scary and could have been fatal car crash, and though we lost a car, A husband, father, brother and son walked away with just a scratch.
On the same day, a terrible fall left Grandpa alone with a broken femur for hours in the cold, usually a fatal break when left untreated for so long you blessed him and all his family, and he is now walking and being as busy as usual. What a blessing.

Fourth. A promotion. Ryan was blessed with promotion that has changed our lives for the better in alot of ways. With all the layoffs and business closing, we are eternally grateful.

Fifth. A loving and wonderful family, who has helped each other, and put their arms around each other, and just been there when we all needed it the most.

So 2009, I will look back on you, smile, and thank you for all the wonderful blessings you provided.

All my love,

Lesley

PS. Tell 2010 to be just as nice
